Overview
The National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC) is the specialized agency of Government saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the development of the Nigerian seed industry for improved quality seed production availability, access and affordability to farmers.
No country is fully independent in real terms without a virile agricultural sector. It is obvious that there could be no virile agricultural sector without a well developed seed sector. Using improved seed as a vehicle of development aims at positioning agriculture to play the role petroleum is currently playing in our economy thus accelerating the food security programme of this administration while also enhancing the attainment of government vision of increasing employment, wealth creation and making farming more profitable. read more
